V. Adm. (Ret.) Ben-Bashat, was the Commander in Chief of the Israeli Navy. He retired in 2008, after serving more than 38 years. Among his many roles, V.Adm. (Ret.) Ben-Bashat served as Chief Commander of the Missile Boats Flotilla, Commander of the Naval Officers Academy, and Israel’s Defense Attaché and Head of Israeli Ministry of Defense Mission in Singapore credit to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea.

In 2007 V.Adm. (Ret.) Ben-Bashat was awarded the “Legion of Merit” the highest decoration for a foreign officer by the US President, and the ” Order of Merit” the highest special decoration in appreciation of his contribution to NATO forces and the Italian Navy by the Italian President.
