Why Companies Listed on Non-US stock Exchanges Should Consider Moving to a US Stock Exchange

Many successful companies have listed through standard IPO on the stock exchanges around the world.

There is a possibility to de-list from the current foreign stock exchange and get listed in NYSE or NASDAQ via a Private-to-Public Equity (PPE)™, or SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company, aka blank-check company) enhanced by the Mentor-Investor™ approaches, process with the GigCapital team.

Several key benefits should be considered:

  • Chances are that the valuation of the company is higher in NY than in a local exchange. This can be explained by the fact that the USA stock exchanges open the companies to more fundamental investors, generating increased awareness on the business
  • In many cases this results in new growth momentum for the company since it can get more public currency for executing faster its growth plans
  • There could also be a ‘local hero’ effect in the company’s home country, where investors there would put more money in the company once it is listed on USA stock exchange
  • This can open extended collaboration and potential joint ventures or other partnerships with other companies
  • Time advantage compared to other listing processes: this could give the company a great edge if the executive team plans to consolidate the market fast via M&As

All in all, this is about new momentum building for companies which are already traded in foreign stock exchanges. The partnership with GigCapital’s leadership team offers: “IPO in a Box”, connections, mentoring, positioning, targeting customers, and providing additional assistance as needed by the company beyond the listing process itself.

GigCapital has already demonstrated the strength and values of its PPETM process working with non-US companies:

  • The first company which GigCapital combined with is a private, Italian. Kaleyra s.p.a. is a successful and growing company in the area of CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) and the first Italian TMT company to Ring the Bell at NYSE.  The stock ticker is KLR as of November 26th, 2019.
  • GigCapital IPO’ed its second company, GigCapital2, Inc. (NYSE: GIX), in June 2019. GigCapital2 is searching for the next company to combine with. Here too, the activities include non-US companies looking to move to an US stock exchange.  Updates to follow.
